Our sweet Christmas Miracle

Sweet girl.  She turned 6 just over a week ago.  She’s young and loves Jesus…and decided to make that public tonight.

We had water baptisms during our Christmas Eve service for the first time ever at our church.  She was dressed up for service in her fanciest Christmas dress and wanted her hair braided all special.  Sarah was excited to go to church and worship Jesus for his birthday.

After baptisms, it’s normal around our church, for the pastor to ask the congregation if there is anyone else who would like to be baptized…and she turned to look at me.  Those big blue, very excited eyes were ready.  She whispered, “Mommy, I want to be baptized!”

Then she turned toward the stage and took off toward her Daddy.  She told him the same thing she had told me.  He looked over at me and we both knew she was ready.

So, why would I expect the day she decided to get baptized to be any different than the Sarah we know?!  Down she went into the water, without hesitation, because she loves Jesus…fancy dress, hair bow and all.  [Mind you, we had zero plans for this and therefore had zero dry clothes for her!]

Tonight was the night, and it was perfect.  You guys, God called and she answered.  Her faith, it’s big and it’s bold…and it’s exactly the way God made her.

I’m thankful for our Christmas miracle.

1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
