What about love?

This past weekend I had the privilege of speaking to tween and teen girls at a wonderful event called the Priceless Conference.  It was such an amazing day…and the Lord shared so much with me that I thought I would share a little bit on here, with all of you!

Do you remember the song that goes “What the world needs now, is love sweet love…it’s the only thing that there’s just too little of…”  Well, that song reminds me of the 1 word the Lord kept bringing me to… “love.  Over and over again.  All weekend long…lol.

The main scripture I used was from Colossians 3:12-14, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another, if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

God is saying to all of us here…Once you know who you are, that you are CHOSEN, LOVED & HOLY…clothe yourself with these things:

But…above all these things…put on LOVE.

Just in case you aren’t convinced, here are a few more examples of how love is so very important:

1 Corinthians 13:2  If I don’t have love, I have nothing.

1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply…”

1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love.”

These instances of “love” are not just speaking of the love between a husband and a wife.   It’s talking about a love that comes from Christ, one that is unblemished and always puts loving people, first.

In other words…love should be the motivating force in our life!  It should be the very reason we do everything.  From folding laundry to being at our work place…from confronting someone to giving our kids baths. Love should motivate everything we do.

It’s the destiny and call of your life.  To love.

And now that you know 🙂 …what are you going to do with it?

<<As I was finishing up this post, I realized I have a “little billboard” that I have hung up in my house to remind me to put on love…everyday!>>
